Tube Fender Installation Overview (CJ - YJ - TJ)

Cutting of the Jeep factory fender is required in order to retain the inner fender. A person with basic fabrication skills and tools can complete the installation in under six hours.

MetalFusion tube fenders can be mounted without an inner fender. Relocation of all fenderwell attached items will be required.

With a sawzall or cut-off tool, the top of your factory fender is cut 3/4" out from the rain lip using masking tape as a guide. The side is separated from the inner fender in a similar fashion, and the outer shell of the fender is removed.

The rear of the inner skirt attaches to two tabs mounted on the tube frame.

The top panel fastens under the 3/4" lip.  Though hidden from sight with the hood closed, the body edge trim makes for a debris-free joint and clean, finished appearance.
